If left on a charger for a long period of time, batteries may get overcharged and swell. Then, once in use again, they will not be able to hold a proper charge.
If your venue is not hosting events for a significant period of time, please follow our recommendations for long-term (1+ month of inactivity) device storage:
- All devices should be powered off and unplugged while stored.
- Equipment should be stored in a climate controlled environment to prevent overheating or getting too cold.
- Equipment should be in a locked room or location with limited access.
- Batteries should not be stored in a fully charged or fully depleted state; 30-50% charged is the ideal range. (To achieve this, charge or discharge the battery to 50% then power it off.)
- If the device has a removable battery, remove it. If the battery is not removable, turn the device off and either remove it from its charger or turn the charger off.
